Legal
Terms & conditions
Last updated August 26, 2026. By creating an account or registering for a course you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
These terms are a contract between you and Zero Stress Renewal [legal entity name — placeholder] ("we", "us"), the operator of Zero Stress Renewal and a California Department of Real Estate continuing-education sponsor (No. ____ (placeholder)).
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and hold, or be applying to renew, a California real estate license.
- One person per account. Keep your password private; you're responsible for everything done with your account.
- The information you give us — name, license number, driver's license number — must be accurate. It's printed on your certificate and reported to the DRE as given.
3. Identity affirmation
Before your first registration you affirm, under penalty of perjury under the laws of California, that you are the person enrolling and the person who will personally take every quiz and exam. Having someone else take an exam, or taking one for someone else, is grounds for immediate termination of your account without refund, voiding of any certificate, and a report to the DRE.
4. Courses and exams
- A course consists of units; each unit has reading material, a practice quiz, and a final exam. Hours are credited when you pass the unit's final.
- You must take a unit's quiz before its final. Finals are timed; time limits are enforced by our servers.
- If you fail a final you may immediately take a retake exam with different questions. If you fail both, a recovery period applies (stated on the course page) during which no finals may be taken in any course, after which you start the unit's exams over.
- Where the DRE requires it, finals open a set number of days after payment and a maximum number of course-hours may be completed in any 24-hour period. These limits are shown on the course page.
- You have one year from purchase to complete every unit in a course. After that your registration expires; contact us about extensions.
- Course material is provided for your own study. You may not copy, share, sell, or publish the eBooks, quizzes, or exam questions.
5. Certificates
We issue a certificate of completion, as a PDF, when you pass the last final in a course. It's issued in the account holder's name and license number only. Submitting it to the DRE with your renewal, and meeting every other renewal requirement, is your responsibility. We keep completion records for at least five years and will provide them to the DRE on request.
6. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in the catalog in US dollars and may change; the price you agree to at registration is the one you pay.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms. We don't store your card details.
- You may register without paying. Reading material and final exams unlock when payment is received. Offline payments are credited when they arrive.
- Discounts (demo-course, brokerage partner, customer referral) are applied one per purchase, best one wins, and can't be combined or applied after the fact.
7. Refunds
You may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase as long as you haven't passed any final exam in the course. After a final is passed, or after 30 days, the purchase is non-refundable, because course hours have been credited toward your license. Refunds go back to the original payment method. To request one, contact us.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share accounts or let anyone else take an exam for you;
- attempt to obtain exam answers by any means other than studying the material;
- probe, scrape, overload, or interfere with the site or its security;
- misrepresent your identity or license status.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and void any certificate obtained by breaking them.
9. Our content
The site, course material, and exam questions are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. Your registration gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own continuing education while your registration is active.
10. Disclaimers and limits
We provide the site "as is". We work hard to keep it available and accurate but don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we're not responsible for outcomes of your license renewal, which depends on the DRE and on requirements beyond our courses. To the fullest extent California law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the course concerned.
11. Changes to the service or these terms
We may update course content (for example when the DRE re-approves material) and these terms. Material changes to the terms will be posted here with a new date and, where practical, emailed to account holders. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
